Xôi chiên phồng

 Dong Nai is a land with extremely unique cuisine. This place not only has delicious food given by nature, but also delicious dishes created by chefs, such as “Xôi chiên phồng” ( a special kind of fried sticky rice). This dish was created in Tan Hiep land in Dong Nai province around 1952. It was originally because the chef accidentally discovered that fried sticky rice swells up during processing. Through trial and error, the chefs have created the perfect fried sticky rice.


To cook Xôi chiên phồng, sticky rice after being prepared like other sticky rice needs to be mixed with sugar and green beans, then fried. The chef needs to have good technique, perseverance, and skillful hands so that the dish can be cooked golden inside and out.

Xôi chiên phồng is very crispy but still has the softness of rice, the sweetness of sugar, and many other flavors combined. So far, Xôi chiên phồng has become a famous dish all over Vietnam, but Dong Nai is still the place to get the best of these special fried sticky rice dishes
